  Another update from MassDOT regarding Neponset River Bridge Construction.

 Daytime and Overnight Lane Restrictions

Neponset River Bridge between Boston and Quincy

 MassDOT’s Contractor will be installing barriers and setting the work zone for the first phase of construction on the Neponset River Bridge Phase II, which carries traffic between Quincy and Boston. The following restrictions affect the Hancock Street ramp.

Tuesday, April 20 from 7AM-3:30PM – Southbound two right lanes closed.  Hancock St. off ramp right lane closed.

 Tuesday, April 20 at 3:30PM through Wed., April 21 at 7AM – Southbound right lane closed.  Hancock St. off ramp right lane closed. 

 Wednesday, April 21 from 7AM-3:30PM – Southbound right and left lane closed.  Center lane will be open to traffic.

 Wednesday, April 21 from 3:30PM to Thursday, April 22 at 7AM – Southbound right lane closed.  Hancock St. off ramp right lane closed.

 Thursday, April 22 from 7AM-3:30PM – Southbound right and left lane closed.  Center lane will be open to traffic.

 Thursday, April 22 at 3:30PM to Friday, April 23 at 7AM – Southbound right lane closed.  Hancock St. off ramp right lane closed.

 Friday, April 23 from 7AM-3:30PM – Southbound right and left lane closed.  Center lane will be open to traffic. 

 Friday, April 23 at 3:30PM and through the weekend – Southbound right lane closed.  Hancock St. off ramp right lane closed.

 MassDOT strongly advises drivers to reduce speed and use extreme caution when travelling through the work zone.

 MassDOT encourages auto commuters to consider taking advantage of alternative transportation opportunities during the construction work and avoid traffic and increased commuting times. There is currently available capacity on the Hingham Ferry, the Quincy/Hull Ferry and the Greenbush Commuter Rail line. The Red line also runs from Quincy to Boston.
