I wanted to pass along this update from MassDOT.

————-

Additional Overnight Lane Restrictions
Neponset River Bridge, between Boston and Quincy

MassDOT’s Contractor will be working overnight on the Neponset River Bridge, which carries traffic between Boston and Quincy on Friday, June 11, 2010. During the work, there will be a double southbound (outbound) lane closure in place between Neponset Circle and the Hancock Street Off Ramp from 11 PM to 5 AM. The Hancock Street Off Ramp will be closed as well. Traffic traveling to Hancock Street should follow the detour southerly along Quincy Shore Drive and turn right at the East Squantum Street intersection and continue westerly to the intersection of East Squantum Street with Hancock Street.

As part of the Neponset River Bridge Rehabilitation on Project Phase II, the following lane restrictions are already in place until further notice.

• There will be 3 northbound travel lanes from the mid point of the bridge to Neponset Circle and one southbound travel lane from Neponset Circle to the midpoint of the bridge Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 10 AM.

• At all other times, two lanes will be provided in each direction on the main span of the bridge and southbound traffic traveling to Quincy Shore Drive will be directed to the left lane that will occupy a portion of the northbound side of the bridge and Southbound traffic traveling to Hancock Street will be directed to the far right lane on the southbound side of the bridge.
