Helping Small Business by Funding Workforce Training Grants

Mar

Yesterday, I joined Speaker Robert Deleo, House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Murphy and my colleagues in the House by approving $9.5 million to fund Workforce Training Grants. The funding would be used to provide employers with grants aimed at educating and training existing members of the workforce and new hires. Through the beginning of this year, more than $175 million in grants have been awarded to train almost a quarter-million workers through the Workforce Training Fund.

During my state wide listening tour, small businesses have repeatedly stated how important workforce training is to increasing their margins. Hopefully, as we emerge from this recession, these grants will help our economy thrive.

  1. I hope not though. I’ve found out that single mother welfare is not really worth it. but you should utilize the students loans that you already have.
