Devastating News from Haiti. Worst Earthquake in the History of the Country.

Just hours ago a major earthquake struck Haiti. Preliminary reports are citing terrible devastation across Port-au-Prince and throughout much of the country. I have been trying to get through to my family but have not been able to thus far.
I have heard from one school, St. Joseph’s, in Petionville. The school teaches former child slaves and was about to celebrate its 25th anniversary next month. The children are ok but the school was completely destroyed. I have also heard reports from another school for special needs children, Wings of Hope, in Fermathe, which is about 45 minutes south of Port au Prince. The children are safe but the school is seriously damaged.
With so many towns built on hillsides all around Port-au-Prince, I fear the worst. My prayers and thoughts are with everyone on the island. In the coming days we will start mobilizing recovery efforts.
